The yacht Clova came up the Sound at about ten this morning with a stiff southeaster behind her. It was so good to see a skipper taking full advantage of the conditions - and he or she was obviously heading to round Ardnamurchan Point before the weather deteriorated.
Meanwhile, the little lochan on the foreshore by the shop was living up to its name, Lachan nan Al, the lochan of broods, but this mallard mother seems only to have one duckling with her.
