A Late Crop
It's been a great year for most of the crops in our vegetable garden, but it's been exceptional for the raspberries. The picture shows what we picked yesterday and, if the good weather persists, we'll have more before the week is out. Along with the raspberries, we picked a bucketful of broad beans for the freezer and a rather overgrown courgette. One downside of this fecundity is that the winter brassicas have come on far too quickly: the cabbages which were meant for the early part of the winter have all hearted and a ready to pick, and the first calabrese, which is designed to feed us in January, is already flowering.
