A Holiday in Portuairk

From Jill Huggins:

We have just arrived home after a fabulous week in Mary's House, Portuairk,  and just had to write and tell you our sightings.  Three times we spotted dolphins in the bay in Portuairk, on the first occasion, on 10th September, they stayed for about two hours and it was really lovely just to watch them frolicking and twisting out of the water from our kitchen window.  They came back again in the afternoon but only for a short while. We also saw a lone seal in the bay in the afternoon.

The photo shows one of the two hedgehogs we managed to coax into the garden on our last evening. We also saw a lizard on the rocks on our walk back from the lighthouse.

I have so many wonderful memories of our week in Scotland.  Stan and I will never forget this holiday.

Many thanks to Jill for writing to the Diary.
Details of Mary's House are here.
