Sailed down to Oban from our base in Badachro on Monday/Tuesday (18th 19th July 2016 ) this week. Most of the trip down the sound of Sleat I was looking out for the welcoming light of the Ardnamurchan lighthouse but with no success. About 8 miles from the lighthouse, at 0100hrs the fog descended and the visibility dropped to a hundred meters or less. Thank goodness for the accuracy of GPS. Although I had kept a log I had a good idea of where we were but there are a lot of rocks around this area. Fog cleared by Tobermory and dawn started to break giving a sigh of relief all round.
