An Avian Feast

The blue tit may be one of the smallest of our birds but the species isn't short of brains.

Not for the first time, it was a blue tit which was first to realise that a strange object hanging off our feeding station wasn't purely decorative but eminently edible.

The fat ball is one of several items kindly donated to the local bird population - which, after watching the blue tit feast itself for several days, will probably finally get the idea - by a very generous reader of the Diary.
