Another glorious sunrise this morning, promising what we knew the weather wouldn't deliver: a fine day.
By nine the southeasterly was up to force 6 or 7, and the rain started shortly thereafter, and....
....by the time we walked through the village to the Community Centre, it was blowing a gale and pelting rain, a total of 13mm in about four hours.
It's been truly miserable weather for sheep, even for those which are regularly moved around and given supplementary haylage and vitamin licks.
At about half past twelve the wind began to move round quite quickly into the southeast and drop. The rain eased, and by four we had bright patches of sunshine moving across the landscape.
Two gales down, one to go, tomorrow morning's. After that, the forecasters are promising.... sunshine.
