New Year Courses at Kilchoan University

There's a cornucopia of new courses being offered at the University of Kilchoan in the New Year - something for everybody, and plenty of help with meeting fee costs.

Those of you who have the misfortune not to live on West Ardnamurchan must be looking at what is offered with a sense of amazement: this is, after all, a community of a mere 200+ souls. But remember.... These courses are available to all, so take a look at the dates, and book your educational holiday to West Ardnamurchan accordingly.

Beekeeping – 2 day course taking place on Sundays 6 and 20 March. Fee £65

Creative Writing – afternoon workshop taking place on Saturday 19 February, from 2.30-5pm. Fee £5*

Dry Stone Dyking – 2 day course taking place on Sunday and Monday 8 and 9 May. Fee £100. ILA eligible

Gaelic – 2 day course, dates and times to be confirmed. Fee £100. ILA eligible

Hedge Laying – 2 day course taking place on Saturday and Sunday 12 and 13 February. Fee £100. ILA eligible

Holistic Therapy – 1 day course taking place on Saturday 26 February. Fee £5*

Jewellery (Clay Bead Making) – evening workshop on Friday 25 March, from 5.30-8pm. Fee £5*

Lip Reading – a monthly class, dates to be confirmed, from 10.30-12.30pm on Fridays. Fee £5*

Marine Diesel/Petrol Maintenance (inboard and outboard) – 1 day course, with RYA certification if required, taking place on Saturday 22 January from 10-5pm. Fee £85. ILA eligible

Photography (Using Your Digital Camera) – 4 hour workshop on Saturday 15 January from 10-2pm. Fee £5*

Photography (Using Your Digital Camera) – repeat course – 4 hour workshop on Sunday 6 February from 10-2pm. Fee £5*

Polytunnel Gardening – 2 hour talk on Thursday 20 January, from 6.30-8.30pm. Fee £2.50*

Skills for Hillwalking – 1 day course, dates and times to be confirmed. Fee £5*

Zumba (the latest trend in dance-based exercise) – 2 hour class on Sunday 20 February, time to be confirmed. Fee £5*
