Coastguard Callout

Kilchoan Coastguard were called out yesterday evening shortly before six in filthy weather after a yacht got into difficulties along Loch Sunart.  Both the Tobermory RNLI lifeboat and the Coastguard helicopter from Stornoway attended.  Picture shows the helicopter checking Kilchoan Pier to see if they could bring the casualty ashore there, but the strong NNE wind may have prevented this.

While details are unclear, we watched the lifeboat and helicopter working close to the north shore of Morvern, between Auliston Point and Oronsay, so perhaps the yacht was towed to that side of the loch.  Details should follow on the Tobermory lifeboat Facebook page, here.
