Many thanks to Alistair Wallace who borrowed Richard O'Connor's camera and took what are the best shots so far of Richard's elusive water rail.
While not uncommon in Scotland, they are rare along the west and northwest coasts. As far as I know, only one other has been seen here, in one of the gardens of Glasbheinn Cottages.
