These oystercatchers probably didn't notice, but there was something unusual about the weather on Sunday, the day we went for a blustery walk at Sanna where they were photographed. The maximum and minimum readings on the thermometer in our front garden were 10C and 10C - in other words, the temperature stayed the same all day and night.
There can't be many occasions, or places, where this happens - the north or south pole, perhaps, in deepest winter when the sun never appears to provide any daytime warmth.
