Mayday in Loch Sunart

Shortly after 10.00am yesterday we noticed that CalMac's Lord of the Isles, which was coming up the Sound of Mull, had veered away to the east, as if she was going in to Loch Sunart.  We don't know this for a fact, but we think she'd altered course to respond to a mayday call from a yacht which had run aground in Loch Sunart.

Tobermory RNLI lifeboat responded to the call, which is probably why the Lord of the Isles reverted to her normal route, though she passed closer to the Kilchoan shore giving us a good view of her.

A full account of the RNLI operation yesterday is on the Tobermory Lifeboat's Facebook page, here.
