The Kilchoan Lido

We've been away for a few days, returning from a dull and overcast England to find photos like this in the inbox - taken yesterday off Ormsaigbeg by Alasdair Thornton.

Since it was a quick visit, we used the Caledonia Sleeper, to find the usual litany of toilets that didn't flush, taps that didn't work, and general neglect.  On the bright side, on the journey south we arrived in Euston on time, but on the return we were two hours late: someone needs to explain to me why the sleeper, having left Euston on time, travelled five miles up the track, stopped, and then backed, in a series of manouevres, until we were just outside Stratford, to the northeast of London, where we sat for an hour.  The Australians and Americans on board must have thought it all very quaint.

See previous post about the sleeper here.

Many thanks to Alasdair for the photo.
