We came across these two young stags the other day grazing near the Beinn nan Losgann forestry, and sent the picture off to Fay Rowantree of local company Wild Highland Tours for a comment. Fay says, "The two stags are around two to three years old. The one on the right is better quality than that on the left and both are in pursuit of spring grass. Typically, a young stag will leave its mother around this age and join a bachelor group."
Wild Highland Tours offers a range of day and night-time tours to see and photograph Ardnamurchan's wealth of wildlife. Their website is here.
