Westerlies

Many thanks to Kilchoan Early Bird for these two pictures, both taken at Bay McNeil yesterday.  The Diary, who has never figured out how rainbows work, wonders whether this, and the one we saw over Kilchoan Bay, were both produced by the same momentary glow of sun.  It's so good to be out of the recent horizon-to-horizon grey cloud....

....and in to a run of strong westerlies which do, at least, bring us the occasional sunny interval and the chance for rainbows to shine.  Not that we lacked rain yesterday: our rain gauge registered 20mm through the day, nearly an inch.
