Campsite's Top Review

As it did last year, the Ardnamurchan Campsite in Ormsaigbeg has a superb review in today's Guardian Guide to Camping. The campsite, says the text, 'turns out to be a combination of all that's best about camping on a very small site, in a spectacular location, offering magnificent views out over a sea loch."

Of West Ardnamurchan itself it says, "Some of the loveliest beaches on the planet can be found round the campsite's edges, as well as a remarkable remnant of a volcanic caldera," and, "Ardnamurchan is a place of geographical wonder, and no amount of scenic superlatives can fully explain why this place grips your spirit so tightly and entices you to make the journey back."

The Ardnamurchan Campsite also features on The Guardian's website, listed under 'The 10 best campsites for views', here.

Trevor Potts' site even merits a full-page photo - though this puzzles Trevor slightly as he doesn't think it's of Ardnamurchan. Has anyone any idea where it might be?
