It is with considerable sadness that we heard of the resignation of Dale Meegan as the manager of our local Learning Centre. Dale, and her predecessor Pat Glenday, have turned this small unit, stuck out in the middle of nowhere serving a resident population of under 300, into a true university, catering for a huge variety of courses, from evening talks through to degree level, accessible to a wide variety of people and enjoyed by all of us.
Some idea of what Dale has been able to offer is seen in this clipping, which lists the courses available in the next few weeks - from soap making to geology to the future of crofting.
Dale is leaving at the end of the year. A job description for anyone wanting to succeed her is available for download here.
