These pictures are from Out&About, a long-time member of Kilchoan Coastguard who, along with several fellow-Coastguards, was being trained yesterday afternoon to work with the Stornoway Search & Rescue helicopter, a Sikorsky S-92.
First they were trained how to be winched up into the helicopter and then....
....they were given what is commonly termed a 'jolly', a flight around the end of the Ardnamurchan peninsula as the sun was setting.
Out&About apologises for the shakiness of this shot of Ardnamurchan Point lighthouse. It's not, he assures me, because he was terrified throughout the experience, but because the winch man wouldn't let him hang out of the open door to take it.
