Allyson Perkins has sent the Diary this photo of a sparrow hawk sitting on their lawn looking a bit vacant. Little wonder - as Allyson explains. "This hapless sparrow hawk flew into one of our back windows, no doubt in pursuit of the multitude of birds on the feeders. He hit the window with quite a bang and I rushed out expecting the worst. Fortunately he just looked rather dazed and embarrassed at his mistake and after a quiet half hour recuperating he flew off none the worse for wear."
