Dustbin Ship returns to Normal Duties

This is the Burhou 1 or, as the ShipAIS persists in calling her, the Burhoui.

She's a regular passer-by in our waters but, a few months ago, she disappeared.  Many thanks to Diary reader Doug Miller of Alsager, Cheshire, who discovered where she had gone - to the Scilly Islands to carry out duties as a "dustbin lorry", taking household waste in bags from Hugh Town to Plymouth - as Doug put it, "a bit different to the log cargoes she is normally used to."  He reported that the contract was expected to finish at the end of March, but when she passed on 10th May it was the first time we'd seen her.
