Euro-Things

We've had a couple of fine days, with plenty of sunshine, but the wind is in the northeast - an unusual direction for here - and blowing a fairly constant force 4 to 5, so a perfectly reasonable daytime temperature of 14C seems cold.  This didn't prevent the people of West Ardnamurchan voting for their candidate in the European election yesterday.  It's reported that we had a turnout of just under 75%, remarkably high, but then democracy is alive and well here, as evidenced by our very active Community Council.

Sunny it may have been, but this morning was noisy.  We could hear fighters playing war-games from the direction of Loch Sunart, but couldn't see them until this came across.  It's a Eurofighter Typhoon, a plane which, now that the Tornados are being withdrawn, we'll have to get used to - amongst other things, it's a while lot louder than the Tornados.
