German Warship Passes

The German Navy's Type 423 Oste Class reconnaissance and intelligence gathering ship Oker A53 passed us heading west out of the Sound of Mull at half past three this afternoon. She is one of three in her class, and was commissioned in 1988. She carries a wide array of electromagnetic, hydroacoustic and electro-optic sensors but no armament.

  2. Many thanks, Geoff. We're so fortunate to be able to sit at home and watch ships like this sail by. She's passed us before, going the other way, in January. Jon
