Meeting with Nicola Sturgeon

Mary Scanlon MSP asked a question in the Scottish Parliament yesterday which resulted in Nicola Sturgeon, Cabinet Secretary for Health & Wellbeing, offering to meet with Mary, Mike MacKenzie MSP , Rhoda Grant MSP and representatives of the West Ardnamurchan community to discuss the ongoing problem of nursing and medical emergency provision here.

Meanwhile, Dave Thompson, our constituency MSP, has arranged a meeting with NHS Highland on Monday. Again, many thanks to Dave for his efforts on our behalf.

These are fantastic breakthroughs, and we are extremely grateful to our MSPs for all they have done for our cause. The meeting with Ms Strugeon gives us a golden opportunity to plead our case.

  2. I don't mean to appear cynical, but looking at the reply from Nicola Sturgeon, where you see a fantastic breakthrough, I read "I'm happy to meet up and mouth platitudes, but basically you're on your own".

  3. I agree with Anonymous No.2, but forewarned is forearmed.
Let's positively challenge Ms Sturgeon not to repeat platitudes. Let's see if she can really help us - or, if not, compel her to say why she will not do so. (That information would be useful....) If she can help, that's great. If not, well, there's always the ballot box, here and in Ms Sturgeon's constituency.

And, thanks to sites like this, anything said - or not said - by any people in power can be reported.
