As Sue Cameron put it when she sent this photo to The Diary, "All the best birds go to Ockle!'This looks like a tawny owl, the one that has the classic "too-whit, too-whoo" call, though quite what it's doing in Ockle in broad daylight is a bit of a mystery.

Thought it might be a short eared owl but can't see two little bumps on head, must be a tawny.
