Cote d'Ormsaigbeg

This luxury yacht came up the Sound this morning and, watched by a lone blackface sheep, rounded Sron Bheag in bright sunshine and calm winds.

We speculated what such an expensive piece of kit could be doing here. This is hardly the time of year for cruising, and the yacht didn't appear to be doing that as it passed us at some speed. It might be 'repositioning' but, again, we wondered where it could be going.

Sadly, we were unable to distinguish the boat's name, and would be very interested to know it.

In the end we decided that a well-heeled celebrity had realised what we have long known - that, given a drop of sunshine, this coast is stunningly beautiful in winter.

  1. Looks like the Sainsbury's prawn deal is paying dividends sooner than we thought.
