Kilchoan Clean up is Biggest Haul

From Geoff Campbell:
Yesterday saw the annual clean up of the Kilchoan foreshore, and everything came together to make it our biggest haul to date. The winter storms provided us with a plenty of rubbish and the amazing spring weather encouraged a record number of volunteers to get stuck in.

Such was the enthusiasm that we collected two trailers’ worth of rubbish, so once again the foreshore is looking as it should, pristine.

Also this year we managed to collect an extraordinary number of fish boxes (well over 50) which will be put to good use at the community garden.

A big thanks to all the volunteers who turned up on the day, to Alayne for making the trailer available, to the Kilchoan Hotel for very welcome soup and sandwiches, and to Steading Holidays for a bumper box of bin bags.

Provisional date for next year is April 5th.

  1. Congratulations everyone.
Wonderful to see so many volunteers...true community spirit.
The village will look so much tidier with all that removed.
    Well done.
