Cottongrass

The first wildflowers of the year are in bloom in the croft lands but it's a great moment when we find the first one high in the hills - but what we found was a little unexpected.  We think it's common cotton grass, which is visible everywhere in summer after its head has formed long cotton-like hairs, but which we've never noticed before in its flowering stage.
