This small bird was seen huddling in a ditch at the side of the Portuairk road yesterday. It seemed perfectly healthy, just a bit bedraggled and sorry for itself.
Treecreeper? Really? It is WITHOUT ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER a Common Sandpiper. Very typical of the species, and nothing about it suggests any other species.

Apparently it's a (very soggy) green sandpiper. Poor thing, looks totally fed up.
