When Alasdair MacLachlan drove out along the Sanna road yesterday morning he noticed a cow looking anxiously into a hole in the ground. When he went to investigate, this is what he found.
The calf was struggling to get out but, try as he might, he couldn't. So Alasdair enlisted the help of his sister, Nan, and, between the two of them, managed to pull the frightened animal out.
The calf seemed fine, much to the delight of his mother - not that she stayed around to say 'Thank you'.Many thanks to Morven and Titch for story and photos
