Aurora Alert

AuroraWatch at the University of Lancaster has issued an amber alert, meaning there is a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights tonight. While it isn't the best time of year, anyone on the north coast who is up and around during the few dark hours might like to keep an eye on the sky.

As the sunspot cycle moves towards its maximum over the next couple of years, sightings of the aurora should increase.

You can sign up, free, to AuroraWatch's email service here.
