Mingary Castle Taken

The Raptor reports that, while taking his Sunday morning stroll along the shore in search of....raptors..., he noticed that the stronghold of Mingary Castle appeared to have been besieged and taken during the night, for the flag of Yorkshire, rather than of Bonnie Scotland, now flies at its masthead.

Just to be certain, the Raptor crept closer and took another picture, and there's no doubt that this is the white rose of Yorkshire.

Creeping yet closer, and using his telephoto lens, the Raptor was able to capture this image of a man - presumably from Yorkshire - on the castle battlements giving a thumbs-up sign. As the Raptor commented, "Some things never change."

Continuing his walk, the Raptor is pleased to report that, although the countryside seems to be crawling with Yorkshiremen, the raptors are still flying over Ardnamurchan. He spotted this adult sea eagle and two golden eagles.

While all this excitement was going on, we were walking some miles to the west of Mingary, in the hills above Ormsaigbeg, where a raw southeasterly wind was bringing a thin, icy drizzle.
