The sunset caught the clouds which drifted across the Sound of Mull yesterday evening, refracting in their rain to form a rainbow. The mirror-calm areas of sea reflected the more distant clouds and blue sky, while the rippled areas picked up the angry orange of the clouds.

The picture hardly does justice to the reality - which was spectacular. It was taken from the Ormsaigbeg road, just beyond Trevor's campsite, looking across the Sound to Mull. Jon
