Some weeks ago, Nan MacLachlan found a ring attached to the foot of a dead bird. The ring had a reference number, so we were able to contact the Ringing Team at the BTO, website here. They have now written back to us, and the following is part of their letter:

| It was found on 17-Dec-2011 at Kilchoan, Highland OS Map reference NM4763, co-ordinates 56deg 41min N 6deg 8min W. | ||||||||
| The bird was Freshly dead | ||||||||
| It was found 1632 days after it was ringed, 29 km from the ringing site, direction NE. | ||||||||
