In the afternoon we were treated to a review of foreign navies, as minehunters from three nations passed us moving north. The first was the Dutch ship M864 HNLMS Willemstadt, followed by....
....M923, the Belgian Navy's BNS Narcis, which was overtaking the Norwegian Navy's M314 HNoMS Alta. It's interesting to note the slightly different shades of grey used by the three navies, the darker Norwegian colour perhaps reflecting the deep shades of the northern North Atlantic. The bold white paint used by all three navies to number their ships is very much appreciated, the Royal Navy continuing to use difficult-to-read black paint.
The sun then treated us to a magnificent sunset, painting Ben Hiant in shades of beaten copper.
