USS Mitscher

A few minutes ago, the Royal Navy Sandown Class minehunter HMS Penzance, M106, came down the Sound of Mull opposite Kilchoan....

 ....leading the US Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer USS Mitscher.

They are both taking part is the major military exercise to the north of us, codenamed 'Joint Warrior', which involves 24 ships from ten different nations.

The USS Mitscher is the largest warship we've seen in these waters in a long time.  There's more about her here.
