Home to a Storm

We've been away for a few days, missing the two storms that came through at the end of last week but arriving home just in time for the next, a strong westerly. Soon after we returned we watched the Irish trawler Antarctica II, LK145, being chased down the Sound by a mass of whitecaps, yet....

....within minutes the sky cleared and we had bright sunshine across Kilchoan Bay which produced a rainbow above the houses in Pier Road.

We have windspeeds of 45mph forecast for late afternoon and evening. The storm is, as always, beautifully illustrated by Cameron Beccario's map, here.
