Dawn this morning, eight thirty, brought an outside temperature of 2C and a ground frost, the first of the winter. In the photo, Morvern lies to the left, the hills of Mull to the right, with Beinn Tallaidh the highest peak, and the Sound of Mull runs away southeast between them.
During the night a bitter north wind gusted to almost gale force, knocking over ceramic plant pots in the garden and bringing the first snow to the summit of Ben Hiant.
Yet the greenhouse is still producing tomatoes, and the last of the ripe raspberries were still on the canes, albeit dusted with frost.
Dear Jon, may I request a panoramic photograph with all the peaks notated with their names?
