We think of October as being the month of rainbows, but yesterday evening's showers provided a full October's-worth within an hour. Of course, this first one might not have been a rainbow at all but some sort of strange glow rising from where the boys were busy excavating beach material for the Playpark.
This one seems to be indicating that there's a pot of gold at the summit of
Glas Bheinn, the hill which rises immediately behind Kilchoan, which is a bit frustrating as we were up there on Friday and found nothing.
The rainbow seemed to keep reinventing itself in different places, so here it is again over the village of Kilchoan, while a low sun bathes the houses in warm evening light.
Appropriately, the brightest rainbow of all was reserved for the end of the spectacle, as this one grew and burned across the still waters of the Sound of Mull.
Wonderful pics.
