Dr. D.A. Steward was a very intelligent and interesting character. A respected diver and writer of some very interesting articles of the underwater biology around Ardnamurchan. He was a price-winner for the beautiful pond he created in the centre of Kilmory. His death is a great loss in our small hamlet and will leave a big empty place. I will miss my great story teller and friend.

  7. I encountered a Duncan A. Stewart many years ago at Queen's University Belfast where I bound his Ph.D. thesis. Something struck me about the guy, he immediately became someone you had known all your life, even his appearance was friendly. To my recolection after his graduation he returned to I think the west of Scotland. He soon after sent me a card thanking me for the very little help I was able and glad to give him. I have never forgotten Duncan. He recently came to mind even though I encountered him for such a short time a long time ago. If you are the chap I met all those years ago ...rest in peace my frend.
