Life on the Edge

These are probably the most westerly sheep on the British mainland, a small flock of Hebridean ewes with a Soay tup which live not far from Ardnamurchan Point lighthouse.  Picture shows them with the Isle of Rum in the distance.

Both Hebrideans and Soays have an ancestral line which goes far back into the history of this part of Scotland.  Follow the links to learn more about these rare breeds.

Many thanks to their owner, Kilchoan Early Bird.
