Vikings

The Viking boat burial which was excavated by the Ardnamurchan Transitions team featured in the recent British Museum 'Vikings' exhibition in London, so West Ardnamurchan now holds an important place in Viking history.  Which may be one reason why Trevor Cowie, of the Scottish History and Archaeology Department, National Museums Scotland, has agreed to come here to give a talk entitled ‘The Vikings in Scotland: some close encounters of the museum kind’ on Tuesday 29 July starting at 7pm, at the Learning Centre in Kilchoan, fee £2.50.

Places are limited so advance booking is essential. Please contact Pat Glenday on 01397 874 260 or pat.glenday.whc@uhi.ac.uk

The Transitions team are back in a week's time - see their schedule, which has more opportunity than ever for public participation, here.
