Pulling Together

The Diary was commenting only yesterday on the way in which people here pull together when there's a job to be done, however cold, wet and messy it might be. With Hurricane Katia still heading our way and due to start making its presence felt early tomorrow afternoon, Kilchoan Bay is now almost empty of boats, the few remaining being tucked up at the back. The highest winds are forecast for around 7pm, which coincides almost exactly with a fairly high spring tide.

The same grim determination to get a job done properly is also evident in the way people are making ready for another event, the meeting between NHS Highland, the Scottish Ambulance Service, and West Ardnamurchan Community Council representatives scheduled for 6pm on Tuesday. With WACC calling on the whole population of West Ardnamurchan to get involved this time, people are setting about their preparations with both resolve and imagination.

For those few who haven't yet started their preparations, Trevor Potts is offering to be available, with all the necessary materials provided, between 4pm and 6pm at his Campsite's Study Centre.
