Mystery Yellow Jelly

This photo came in from 'Kilchoan Early Bird' showing a yellow jelly forming a coating on vegetation.
Has anyone any idea what it is?

  1. Hilary Hizzard says, "The only thing I can think your yellow jelly to be is Yellow Brain Fungus (Tremella mesenterica). If a careful eye is kept on it as it dries out it should darken to a darker orange colour and become brittle, so time might tell. It usually develops on decaying or dead branches, so perhaps there is some dead wood lying in the vegetation in which it is developing.
    Not to be eaten!"
