We enjoyed a solid twenty-six millimetres of prime Kilchoan sunshine between 8am yesterday and 8am today, and a further twenty between 8am and 8pm - that's almost 2 inches of the golden stuff in the last thirty-six hours.
As a result the snails were out in force, improving their suntan, except that, as usual....
....they'd lost all the best places round the puddles because the slugs had put their towels out before breakfast.
For some, a patch of nettles offered welcome shade.
Those of us with tender skins stayed indoors, but some have to be out in all weathers earning a daily crust - this is Alasdair MacLachlan in his Sylvia T laying creels close to the Ormsaigbeg shore.
But for others a a hard day's work ended miserably. This fishing boat was towed into Tobermory by the Tobermory lifeboat after wrapping a rope around its propeller off Coll this evening.
