A Plover's Nest

The grandchildren like Sanna so we returned there this morning for a brisk walk along the sands. The sun came out occasionally, painting colours across the landscape, but for much of the time the it lay subdued and grey, not that this put off....

....the photographer, whose best pictures were of....

....a ringed plover trying to attract our attention by pretending to have a broken wing, an antic which made it very obvious that....

....just at the top of the sandy beach, a few feet above last night's high tide mark, she had a nest with three beautiful eggs.

Many thanks to Hebe for the pictures of the plover and her eggs.

  1. Lovely shot of Sanna bay and especially the Plover's nest - my girls would have loved to find that (must watch out during next years trip). Glendrian was not so photogenic yesterday, well not until we were well on with the return leg across 'the bogs'. (Good to see your grand daughters off their phones and using their new cameras - fantastic)
