Looking across Kilchoan Bay to the houses along Pier Road, with the Coastguard hut at right, in the last of yesterday's sunshine. Behind them stand Beinn na h-Urchrach (centre) and Ben Hiant. By this time the wind had moved into the northwest and the temperature had dropped, bringing us a low of 3C overnight. This morning, hail showers are coming in on a brisk Atlantic breeze and the temperature reminds us that winter is truly here.
We very rarely visit Tobermory, across the Sound of Mull on a 35-minute journey, but a visit to the dentist is necessary, meaning a crossing on the 11.45 ferry and a return on the 3.45 Tobermory sailing, a long time over there for a few minutes in the chair.
