A Winter Holiday

From Jean Jackson:

We returned to Ardnamurchan this February for a winter break after an absence of 40 years. We have sailed by on our annual trip to Barra for some 28 years and felt it was time to give Ardnamurchan another try.

We stayed at Fascadale. The weather was so severe it has etched West Ardnamurchan into our beings and we would love to return.

Your blog has allowed us to be there in spirit and enjoy the summer with you.  As a frustrated archaeologist I have revelled in the reports from Mingary Castle and can't wait to see what happens next. We saw the scaffolding going up as we sailed by in August.

It's always a great pleasure to publish pieces from visitors to West Ardnamurchan.
Many thanks to Jean for allowing the Diary to print this, and for reminding us of what winter will bring.
The Fascadale houses are let by Ardnamurchan Estate, here.
