Sheepfight

Two tups - that's male sheep, or rams - were having a face-off in a Kilchoan field this morning.  In the left corner was a blackface tup with some quite impressive horns, and in the right corner a cheviot without.

Just to set the record straight, the blackface started it, and was soon laying in to the cheviot with some gusto.  The Cheviot looked more bemused than anything else, as if his dignity was being severely hurt. They reminded the Diary of two old men who had had a bit of an argument in the pub, and then decided to go outside to sort it out.

Unfortunately for the blackface, once he'd hit the cheviot a couple of times the cheviot's blood was up and, although he didn't have the horns, he did have the weight, and he was soon pushing his rival all over the place.

Local residents don't have to watch David Attenburgh on the TV describing male giraffes fighting in Namibia - all the excitement happens right here, in Kilchoan's fields.
