A small pod of common dolphins passed across the small bay below our house this morning. It's always difficult to tell how many there are in a pod, but there must have been at least half a dozen in this one.
They gathered just off Trevor Potts' Ardnamurchan Campsite and began jumping and playing, staying there for a few minutes.
A dull, drizzly morning wasn't ideal for photography, particularly since, as soon as the Diary grabbed wellingtons and scampered off down the hill towards the bay to try for a better shot, the dolphins headed off across the mouth of Kilchoan Bay in the direction of Glas Eilean.
Wonderful!
