Lifeboat in Action

The Tobermory lifeboat was called out this afternoon to rescue a small boat with five people on board which had broken down in the Sound of Mull.  The weather was fine, with a stiff northerly blowing.

The lifeboat towed the boat as far as the entrance to Kilchoan Bay, then used its Y-boat to take it to the slipway.

As Trevor Potts, who took these pictures, commented, the lifeboat would normally have come much further into the bay but, with the loss of the perch, she stood well off.

Many thanks to Trevor for story and pictures.
Trevor runs the Ardnamurchan Campsite.
