Boat Washed Up

One casualty of the recent storms was this boat, found ashore near the CalMac pier the other day by a local couple walking their dog.  It's a Pioner 10, a Norwegian-built leisure boat - more details about the make here.

Kilchoan Coastguard was alerted, made the boat safe, removed the outboard, and reported the 'wreck' to Stornoway Coastguard.

It's a local boat as a west coast chandler is named on the outboard, which is a four stroke.  But, while the engine itself is in good condition....

....the propeller shows signs of having been in the water for a long time - the only way of explaining the  amount of weed which has grown on it.

Anyone having any information about the boat should contact Stornoway Coastguard on 01851 702 013

  1. I hope the owner found his boat.
The pioner boats are good easy to move and have a lightweight.
